# Nicekit Nicekit is a lookup and tool kit. It shows a visitor their public IP, a download speed test, origin, weather at that location, a best-guess VPN flag, and the DNS resolver the browser used. It also ships file and web tools, all listed on the home page: - Browser-only file utilities (merge/split/rotate PDF, images to PDF, MP4 to MP3) — files never leave the machine. The four PDF tools share a tab at /tools/pdf. - Web fetchers: a Loom video/transcript downloader, a *.vercel.app subdomain availability checker, and one AI chat exporter at /tools/chat-export that reads public share links from Claude, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Qwen and Grok (Markdown, TXT, DOCX, PDF). IPs, fingerprints, and lookup results are not stored. ## Human interface Open / in a browser for the tool index and the who-am-I tile. Open /whoami for the full diagnostic card: public IP, speed, origin, weather, VPN guess and browser. For why the project exists and what tech it exercises, see /about. ## Machine interfaces curl, wget, and httpie against / receive the public IP as text/plain. A request to / with Accept: application/json (and without preferring text/html) receives JSON with ip, origin, weather, and request. Speed, DNS, and VPN stay in the browser and are not in that JSON. ## Sources Origin: ipwho.is and RIPE Stat. Weather: open-meteo.com. Speed: speed.cloudflare.com. DNS: ip-api edns. VPN flags: ipapi.is (heuristic).
